I mean, it’s a little bit of a beater, but it’s also a 4wd F250 with a nice plow, so I expect it’ll beat the crap out of winter as well. The plow came to it late in its life, so it hasn’t been plowed with forever. I’d NEVER believe that kind of line, except it belongs to a friend. He bought some land and a brand-new F350 so he’s kicking this one to the curb. It’s exactly what I need, capable of carrying my kids in the back seat (around town anyway) and it’s not 93 feet long. The extended cab just takes up 18" of space from the bed so that’s 6.5' and you’ve got a big cab instead. Perfect for a plow rig, and totally adequate for my winter truck needs - plus it’ll tow my boat nicely for the few occasions I do that.
It’s a ‘99 F250 with about 110k, 5.4 V8 (the older and “better” one). Clean interior.
It has a bit of rust down low but the frame is rock solid, always been oiled and lived indoors most of its life. We’re having a bit of rust repair done because of course. But everything - even the a/c - works as it should. The owner even had the internal mechanism of the tailgate totally replaced because it was wonky. All new brakes this summer too. Should be solid for us for a few years anyway.
Back in the 90's baby!!
Almost forgot to mention, $7,500 all in. Considering the average condition of a $15k truck around here (hardly perfect) , this is a good price.

My dad always buys and F250 at the government auction, keeps it for a couple years and then gets another.

Old, but doesn’t look too beat at all.

Clean velour is a special kind of clean. If that stuff takes a stain, it will hold it to the end of time. So, you know he took care of it if you don’t see any. If it were my work truck, no way it would look that good inside after 110k.
The color is great too.

damn nice winter beater! Love that color. I have a buddy at work with a 150 with that 5.4 motor and honestly the only issue he’s ever had was that the plugs stick.

I don’t know what is less believable, the condition of the cloth or the condition of the bolster. Great buy!

Sweet! I've always liked that green on the older Super Duties.

I’d love the V10 but only because I love the sound and power of that motor. I think the 5.4 is more reliable or at least less expensive to keep up.

That’s a good system. Our local electric company auctions their old vehicles and I’ve tried but failed to pick something up. A friend picked up a great work van for like $1,500 and had it for 10 years.

My old green truck has been gone long enough now that this one can just be called “the green truck” without confusion.

My dad was a financial guy and VP for some huge companies, he is insane when it comes to the cost stuff. He buys the trucks with the heavy duty Allison trannies at the biggest auction in the country, in NM I think. He has sold them for what he paid for them . I think he has kept the current one for a bit longer, he says he hasn’t driven it much.

I had a 2000 with that same color, cab, bed, engine combo. I love that color. Cab corner rust is a jackass on these though. I think water gets in from the brake light on the cab and has no where to go if I remember correctly. Nice buy!
